Sleek Pout Paints: Review

I managed to find the Sleek Pout Paints in Superdrug on Monday even though they aren't officially released yet! Woohoo! I love to be the first to try new things haha. I initially bought 3 shades I liked to try them out, which were 161 Minx, a peachy nude, 154 Mauve Over, a slightly purple fuchsia, and 159 Port, which is a berry shade.

Sleek describes the Pout Paints as "A highly pigmented lip stain". There are 9 colours in the collection, including black, white and blue, along with the more wearable on their own shades. Like the OCC Lip Tars, which many of you may have heard of, they are designed to be mixed to create your own perfect colours.

As you can see, the applicator has a small nozzle, which can be used to squeeze a tiny bit (and you really do only need the tiniest bit of product!) onto a palette or your hand. I find that the best way is to use a lip brush to apply this product. It is highly pigmented so your application needs to be precise. You may be able to tell from my messy swatches!

Here's what they look like on the lips:

 Minx

 Mauve Over

Port

In reality Port looks darker to me. Quite a vampy type of colour on me but still very wearable, perfect for Autumn!

These wear extremely well on me, and I don't wear lipstick well. I get at least 4 hours wear, they even stay on through eating and drinking. As they are a stain, they dry down quite matte and can be slightly drying but I don't find them uncomfortable. One of the things I like the most about them is how they wear. A lot of lip stains I really dislike them because they wear off on the outside of my lips but the stain won't come off on the bits near the inside of my mouth and looks really weird! These don't do that at all.

Overall I think the Sleek Pout Paints are fantastic! I cannot compare them to the OCC Lip Tars as I haven't tried them, but these are a great alternative, particularly for a makeup artist's kit. They are also great value at £4.99, and I plan on getting the full set!

Hope you found this review helpful, if you have any questions leave them in the comments!

Eyes of the Day - Birthday Girl

Hey all! Here's my look for today. I decided to use Sugarpill Birthday Girl because it's my birthday today (I'm sad like that).

Here's what I used:

Urban Decay Primer Potion
Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
Sugarpill Chromalust shadow in Birthday Girl - lid
Spellbound Cosmetics Creeper - crease, lower lashline
Sleek Oh So Special Palette Bow (matte cream) - inner corner highlight and brow highlight
Sleek Oh So Special Palette Ribbon (matte pink)- between inner corner and middle of lid

Hope you like it!

Spellbound Cosmetics: Swatches

Today I received an order I made with Spellbound Cosmetics. This is the first time I have tried products from this company and I'm really pleased with what I've got. I ordered samples of Lucky Charm, Sentinel Moon, Mojave and Wink, and a full size jar of Creeper. Samples are $1 and full size is $3.99. I was also sent samples of Null, Dragon Scales, Vigilant, Fools Gold and Enchanted.

Here's what the packaging looks like:

And here they are, all swatched over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy.

I really like these shadows, they are complex and different from things I already own. My favourite picks are Creeper, Null and Dragon Scales.

Spellbound Cosmetics are available from their website, etsy and information can be found on facebook.

Eyes of the Day - Curacao Palette

Hey everyone! Sorry for being MIA for a while, between having a stye, a cold and loads of work to do, the blogging got kinda pushed down my list of priorities. But I'm back now. I recently received the Sleek Curaçao palette which I really love and have enjoyed playing with very much. I especially love the bright turquoise and blue colours as they are shades which have been missing from my collection. The pigmentation of them is amazing. I previously only had the Acid Palette from Sleek which I love, but this one is more pigmented and easier to apply. So here is the look I did today using colours from the palette.

What I used:

Urban Decay Primer Potion
Sleek Curacao Palette Blue Hawaiian (bright matte turquoise) - lid
Sleek Curacao Palette Purple Haze (matte purple) - outer corner & crease, outer lower lashline
Sleek Curacao Palette Green Iguana (shimmery emerald green) - lower lashline
Sleek Curacao Palette Blue Lagoon (matte bright blue) - lower lashline
Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk - inner corner
Sleek Curacao Palette Martini (shimmery cream) - inner corner
Sleek Curacao Palette Espresso Martini (matte black) - upper lashline
mascara

Hope you like it!

Eyes of the Day - Smoky Blue

So it's late at night and I'm about to change my bedsheets. Naturally this seems like a good time to start playing with makeup. I thought I would try something which I normally shy away from, namely navy blue and blackened colours. I don't think they flatter me at all but I thought I would give it a go. Also this is the first time I've tried doing macro shots with a flash. I'm semi-happy with it but obviously the pictures aren't perfect!

I started with Urban Decay's 24/7 Liner in Binge, which is a navy blue. Over that I applied Barry M's Dazzle Dust in 98 which I believe is Petrol Black. Very pretty shadow. Then I dabbed a tiny bit of Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy and patted Fyrinnae Biker Chic over the top. I added a bit of silver and blue from the Sleek Acid Palette and a matte skin colour to highlight.

Products used:

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Binge - all over lid & lower lashline.
Barry M Dazzle Dust 98 Petrol Black
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
Fyrinnae Biker Chic
Sleek Acid Palette (silver and lightest blue colours)
Asda George 4 Colour Eye Palette in 01 Chestnut (matte cream) - highlight

I do like this look, I love the sparkles and the contrast between the almost greasy lid and the matte highlight. However I'm still not sure it's for me. I think it would look beautiful on brown eyes though!

Hope you like it.

FOTD: Fyrinnae Sennyo

This is the look I did on Friday night when I went out for a friend's birthday meal. It was really lovely and we had a great time. We went to a Chinese restaurant which I love, ordered a ton of yummy food and drank wine :) I did a look which was quick but I love the combo and my bf always complements it. Sennyo is one of my all-time favourite colours; it's bright but pretty, not to dark, not too blue, and goes with so many other eyeshadows.

I realise there is liner on my lashes, you couldn't tell from a normal distance :p

What I used:

Urban Decay Primer Potion
NYC Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk (inner corner)
Fyrinnae Sennyo - bright pinky purple (lid)
Hi Fi Cosmetics Rockstar Loose Eyeshadow in Top 40 - raspberry pink (crease)
Hi Fi Cosmetics Shadow in In Bloom - bubblegum pink (above crease & inner corner)
Beauty From The Earth Big Ego - deep purple (lower lashline)
Collection 2000 Glam Crystals Dazzling Gel Liner in Le Freak

Hi Fi's In Bloom reminds me of Sugarpill's Dollipop, except loose. I sometimes use it instead because it's easier to get off for me. Dollipop can sometimes stain my eyelids a bit. I love Hi Fi's shadows so much, they're so soft and blendable and the shades are mostly unique :) Hope you like this look!

P.S. I'm thinking of doing some more tutorials soon, maybe how to use glitter eyeliner, and how to wear bright coloured eyeshadow. Let me know if any of you are interested!
